Bingo - Good for the Mind?
When we think of bingo, genius and brainpower don't always spring to mind; these attributes have tended to be reserved for poker and other games of skill and luck. The image of a grandparent sitting in a community hall with a cup of tea and a card of bingo does not lend itself to the intrigue of psychology and mental agility. However, according to a study by the University of Southampton's Psychology Department, bingo may not be the trivial pastime many would take it for. Researchers there insist that bingo keeps the mind sharp and equate this as especially important to people as they get older....

In People magazine's December 2004 issue, Gus Hansen was voted one of the 50 sexiest men alive. He was in good company with the likes of Jude Law, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Sacha Baron Cohen, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Smits, Donald Trump, Blair Underwood, and Bruce Willis, to name a few.

Tournament Blackjack and the Art of Sabotage
I was recently invited to play in the Daily Invitational Blackjack Tournament at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Tournament blackjack differs a great deal from the regular version, and my tournament strategy would - at best - be considered a work-in-progress. I've played in a few in the past, though, and had a lot of fun time and again, so I headed up to 'The Woods' for the day.

Expected Value in Texas Holdem Poker
A successful Texas hold em player is one who maximizes his return or minimizes his loss with each decision he makes. Every poker decision, whether it be to bet, raise, check/call, check/fold, check/raise has an expectation of success or failure. Those that will lose you money in the long run are said to have negative expected value (-EV)....

In almost video poker machines, the payout is proportionally the same regardless of the number of coins bet. In other words, if you have a winning hand that pays 10 for one coin bet, it will pay 20 for two coins bet, 30 for three coins bet, etc.
As a result, there is no advantage to playing more than one coin - WITH ONE EXCEPTION: A ROYAL FLUSH!...
